Sergiy Portnoy

Sergiy is an of counsel with Real Estate, Construction and Infrastructure practices of the firm.

He has a legal career spanning over 20 years, which varied from working for development and construction companies, local and international law firms, IT companies and startups, transportation companies, breweries to managing private law office.

Sergiy started his carrier in Odesa in 2004 working for leading local players in construction and development industries where he gained deep understanding of technical side of the business. He focuses on land, real estate, construction and development, PPP, sea ports and infrastructure projects.

In particular, Sergiy is an expert with FIDIC contracts and throughout his career advised clients on several complex projects using FIDIC standard documentation.

Throughout his career Sergiy’s client portfolio included large international and local agricultural enterprises, sea terminals operators, DYI supermarkets, dredging and development companies, engineering and architectural companies, companies owning and managing real estate portfolio.

Besides, Sergiy is an author of a number of articles devoted to real estate, land and construction matters, as well as was an expert of the World Bank Doing Business in Ukraine Project. He is also an active contributor to numerous legislation improvement activities, such as laws on Sea Ports, Inland Water Transport, Land Market, the Land Code of Ukraine, subordinated legislation.
