Two draft laws registered with the Ukrainian parliament in April 2024 in the area of life science.
Advertising of medicinal products. Draft Law No. 11172 proposes to ban the advertising of medicinal products on their packaging. The draft suggests that medicine boxes will not be able to display any information that tries to convince people to buy the medicine, such as promoting it as particularly effective or extremely beneficial. However, it will still be possible to mention the manufacturer and holder of the registration certificate on the package, as well as provide information about the medicinal product. In addition, the draft law prohibits the import into Ukraine and the sale of medicines with information on the packaging of a company that is not the manufacturer or the owner of the registration certificate for these medicines.
Acceleration of parallel import of medicines. Draft law No. 11173 proposes to start parallel import of medicines from January 1, 2025. We note that current legislation triggers such imports 30 months after the end of martial law.
